ASC Nurse

Coordinate and initiate patient care within the Ambulatory Surgery Center, acting as a patient advocate during the perioperative and intraoperative process. Perform pre-operative patient assessments including vital signs, administer eye medications aseptically, and verify proper documentation and diagnostic studies before transferring patients to the OR. Open sterile instrument packs, connect sterile devices to non-sterile sources, and prepare operating suites with necessary instruments and equipment. Monitor patients' vital signs, levels of consciousness, and reactions to anesthesia post-operatively, while assisting the anesthetist in emergency situations and accompanying patients to post-op for handoff. Package and prepare tissue specimens for the lab, apply sterile dressings, and assist staff in cleaning and preparing the operating room for subsequent procedures. Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA. Mon.-Thurs., 7:00am-4:30pm.
