Job Summary
Operate conventional and CNC mills and lathes, set up and program multi-axis CNC machines, and interpret blueprints and written instructions. Perform dimensional verifications with a range of inspection tools, maintain cutter/tooling supply levels, develop fixtures/tools as needed, and ensure quality and safety. Collaborate with the team to meet daily production goals, maintain a clean 5S-compliant work area, and participate in Lean and Kaizen activities. This role is on the 2nd shift (M-F, 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM) in a temperature-controlled Wichita, KS factory environment. ITAR requires US citizenship or permanent residency.
Required Qualifications
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn new processes to meet production goals
- Experience machining metals including Inconel, stainless, and aluminum
- Frequent use of measurement devices (calipers, scale, micrometer, height gage, depth gage, flow meter, electrical analysis equipment)
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and engineering drawings
- Excellent organizational skills
- 18 years of age
- Must have a high school diploma and/or GED
- Preferred: 2+ years of machining experience; exposure to aerospace requirements; CNC programming experience (Mastercam); understanding of lean and continuous improvement; understanding of GD&T
