Job Summary

Conduct a robust research program including actively seeking external funding and maintain a productive research agenda. Excel at teaching core courses in stratification and inequality at both undergraduate and graduate levels while mentoring a diverse body of graduate and undergraduate students. Provide engaged service to the department, university, and the profession through committee work and project assignments. Engage in cross-disciplinary research with other departments and research centers such as the Kirwan Institute and the Criminal Justice Research Center.

Required Qualifications

  • Applicants are expected to have a PhD in sociology or a related field
  • Candidates must be at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor (with tenure)
  • Applicants are expected to present evidence of excellence in both research and teaching

  • Preference is given to applicants with an established record of published research in high-quality outlets
  • Preference is given to applicants with external funding
  • Preference is given to applicants with teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students
