Job Summary
Deliver comprehensive technical training curriculum to apprentices in routine maintenance, engine systems, suspension, brakes, electrical, and HVAC. Conduct hands-on instruction, assess and document apprentice progress with regular feedback, and guide market mentors to maximize effectiveness. Maintain training equipment and facilities to ensure safety standards while assisting the ATI Manager in curriculum updates and recruitment efforts. Collaborate with Service Department Managers and the regional used car director to align training outcomes with operational needs. Requires current ASE certifications in multiple areas, 5+ years of experience as an ASE certified technician, and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
Required Qualifications
- Current ASE certifications in multiple areas
- Demonstrated proficiency in routine maintenance, engine systems, transmissions, suspension and steering, brakes, electrical, heating and air conditioning systems
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts clearly
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with diverse groups of apprentices
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Patience and enthusiasm for teaching and developing others
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also functioning independently
- Requires strong analytical and critical thinking abilities, proven time management skills, and a self-directed approach to identifying and resolving challenges independently
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and productive learning environment
Desired Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as an ASE certified technician
- Experience with both import and domestic automotive brands
- Previous teaching, training, or mentoring experience
