Job Summary
Prepare and analyze bulk environmental samples for asbestos using PLM microscopy, validating data accuracy and entering results into the LIMS to generate client reports. Perform independent data reviews, analyze reference and quality control materials, and coordinate sample transfers while maintaining laboratory inventory and equipment. Assist the QA manager in developing processes, pursue necessary accreditations, and conduct root cause analysis for errors. Maintain training documents, support colleagues on analytical questions, and participate in Lean initiatives. Schedule workload according to due dates and manage rush projects for timely delivery.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience performing asbestos microscopy
- 2-3 years of experience is ideal
- Must be able to work in Folsom, CA
- Bachelor's degree in microbiology, biology, geology or a closely related science
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
- Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English
- Must be able to work the following shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
- Weekends and overtime as needed
Desired Qualifications
- 8 units of Microbiology courses preferred
- General regulatory requirements knowledge
- Knowledge of computers, spreadsheets, and databases
- Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
