Job Summary
Conduct PLM analysis of bulk samples for asbestos, preparing and analyzing environmental samples per scientific methodology and SOPs. Enter analytical data into the LIMS, validate results for accuracy, and perform independent data reviews for other analysts. Manage sample workload schedules, maintain laboratory equipment, and coordinate sample transfers and inventory. Assist in developing QA processes, pursuing lab accreditations, and performing root cause analysis for errors. Provide technical support to clients and training to coworkers while participating in Lean initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience performing asbestos microscopy
- 2-3 years of experience is ideal
- Must be able to work in Folsom, CA
- Bachelor's degree in microbiology, biology, geology or a closely related science
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
- Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English
- Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
- Weekends and overtime as needed
- Full-time employment
- PLM Asbestos Analysis experience
Desired Qualifications
- 8 units of Microbiology courses preferred
- General regulatory requirements knowledge
- Knowledge of computers, spreadsheets, and databases
- Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
