Job Summary
Conduct PLM analysis of bulk samples for asbestos using scientific methodology and company SOPs. Prepare and analyze aerobiological and environmental samples, entering data into the LIMS to generate client reports. Perform independent data reviews, validate results, and execute quality control tasks including proficiency sampling and reference material analysis. Coordinate sample workload by due dates, manage laboratory inventory and equipment servicing, and assist with QA process development and accreditation maintenance. Provide technical support to clients and training to co-workers while participating in root cause analysis for errors.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience performing asbestos microscopy
- 2-3 years of experience is ideal
- Must be able to work in Folsom, CA
- Bachelor's degree in microbiology, biology, geology or a closely related science
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
- Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English
- Must be able to work the following shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
- Weekends and overtime as needed
Desired Qualifications
- 8 units of Microbiology courses preferred
- General regulatory requirements knowledge
- Knowledge of computers, spreadsheets, and databases
- Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
- Sign on bonus is available for qualified candidates with PLM Asbestos Analysis experience
