Job Summary
Provide technical support for asbestos and lead issues on construction and facilities projects. Prepare site assessments and abatement designs, review consultant reports for accuracy, and conduct surveys, bulk sampling, and wipe testing. Develop project estimates and coordinate the removal, encapsulation, or management of hazardous materials. Monitor environmental work during construction to ensure compliance with regulations and specifications. Maintain project tracking information using Maximo. This role supports LAUSD's Facilities Services Division within the Greenridge Group, helping shape safe, modern school environments for public agencies.
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of full-time professional construction experience involving asbestos/lead assessment, sampling, design, monitoring, and abatement
- 2 years of relevant professional construction experience plus a current California Certified Site Surveillance Technician (CSST) certification
- Current California Certified Asbestos Consultant (CAC) certification
- AHERA asbestos course certificates: Building Inspector, Management Planner, Contractor/Supervisor, and Project Designer
- EPA Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) Certification
- California Department of Public Health Lead Inspector/Assessor/Project Monitor certification
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field
