Job Summary
Coordinate site assessments, abatement designs, and environmental monitoring for asbestos and lead projects across construction sites. Survey locations to recommend mitigation methods, review consultant reports for accuracy, and prepare job estimates and inspection findings based on construction drawings. Plan the repair, removal, or encapsulation of hazardous materials while conducting project monitoring to ensure compliance with laws and safety regulations. Investigate accidents, perform bulk sampling and wipe testing, and manage abatement records using Maximo to track labor charges and progress. Maintain communication with regional and central departments to provide technical support. Requires five years of construction experience or relevant certifications, with a bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
Required Qualifications
- Five (5) years full time paid professional construction experience on projects involving environmental (asbestos/lead) assessment, sampling, design, monitoring and abatement
- 2 years full time paid professional construction experience on projects involving environmental (asbestos/lead) assessment, sampling, design, monitoring, and abatement
- Certification from the State of CA as Certified Site Surveillance Technician (CSST)
- Certification from the State of CA as Certified Asbestos Consultant
- Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor's degree in engineering or any related field
- Possession of Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA), asbestos course certificates (Building Inspector, Management Planner, Contractor/Supervisor and Project Designer)
- Possession of Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) Certification
- Possession of CA Department of Health (CDPH) Lead certification (Inspector/Assessor/Project Monitor)
