Job Summary
As400/iSeries Batch Scheduling and Console Operations role at Kyndryl involves monitoring, operating IBM AS400/iSeries systems across multi-vendor environments, executing and managing batch jobs with schedulers (Tidal, Robot Scheduler, Advanced Job Scheduler), performing job control (stop/restart/re-run) and dependency management, analyzing batch failures (PD) and ensuring timely resolution, monitoring MAM consoles and message queues, providing first-level support for system, application, and network issues, handling I/O operations including tape/backups/print spooling, and developing/maintaining operational procedures and documentation to meet client requirements. The position offers a path from Junior System Administrator to Architect, with hybrid-friendly culture and growth opportunities in a variety of industries.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years experience with IBM AS400 / iSeries (IBM i OS) and system operations
- Hands-on experience with Tidal Batch Scheduler, Robot Scheduler, and Advanced Job Scheduler
- Ability to stop, restart, and manage batch jobs and troubleshoot failures
- Experience in Problem Determination (PD) and incident analysis in production environments
- Knowledge of MAM console operations and system monitoring tools
- Proficiency in handling IBM AS400 message queues, alert management systems, and console operations
- Understanding of job queues, output queues, subsystems, and spool file management
- Experience in monitoring multi-vendor systems, networks, and distributed applications
- Basic understanding of RPG, COBOL, or DB2/400 database concepts
- Familiarity with enterprise monitoring tools and automation frameworks
- Knowledge of ITIL processes such as Incident, Problem, and Change Management
- Exposure to Windows, Linux, and Mainframe environments
- Experience in developing system management processes and operational improvements
- Background in banking/finance/insurance domains is an advantage
