Job Summary
USA TODAY is seeking a reporter to join its Money/Tech team to cover the rapidly evolving artificial intelligence industry. This is a 12-month, full-time, grant-funded position supported by the Tarbell Center for AI Journalism. The reporter will produce timely AI coverage and enterprise reporting, optimize content for SEO, collaborate with editors, and translate complex AI topics into clear, engaging journalism. The role requires strong reporting and writing skills, ability to handle high-volume news, and familiarity with SEO and analytics. Remote work is available within the US (excluding Alaska, Hawaii, and Wyoming).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field
- Strong reporting, writing and news judgment skills
- Ability to handle fast-paced, high-volume news coverage
- Experience covering technology, business or policy preferred
- Ability to explain complex topics in clear, accessible language
- Familiarity with SEO, analytics and digital best practices
- Experience using social media to source and promote content
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work remotely
