Job Summary
Maintain hardware and software for electrical and electronic control systems to optimize production equipment uptime while providing troubleshooting services. Assist maintenance electricians in learning new equipment, establishing spare parts inventories, and overseeing the installation and startup of new electronic systems identified in the marketplace. Support the engineering department by ensuring proper data exchange and promote NFP 70 safety standards and lean quality team concepts. Requires an Associate degree in electronics technology with 3 to 5 years of experience in PLCs, AC/DC drive systems, and process control instrumentation. Includes rotating weekend on-call duties.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in electronics technology
- Technical strengths in PLC's
- Technical strengths in AC/DC drive systems
- Technical strengths in process control instrumentation
- 3 to 5 years of experience with PLC
- 3 to 5 years of experience with AC/DC drive systems
- 3 to 5 years of experience with process control instrumentation
- Experience preferably in a heavy manufacturing environment
- Ability to work with people in such a manner as to build high morale and group commitments to goals and objectives
- Ability to act in solving problems while exhibiting judgment and a realistic understanding of issues
- Ability to use reason, even when dealing with emotional topics
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds unassisted
