Job Summary
Plan, implement, and facilitate creative therapeutic art experiences for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and medically complex needs participating in the Medical Day Program, using a variety of artistic mediums (painting, drawing, sculpting, mixed media, sensory art, adaptive art techniques) to support emotional wellness, self-expression, socialization, sensory engagement, cognitive stimulation, and overall quality of life. Collaborate with nurses, DSPs, therapists, and program leadership to deliver individualized and group-based experiences; maintain documentation and ensure confidentiality and regulatory compliance; foster inclusive, participant-centered care and meaningful engagement through trauma-informed, person-centered planning.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Art Therapy
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities, behavioral health needs, or medically complex populations.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to adapt activities for varying levels of physical and cognitive abilities.
- CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.
