Job Summary
Delivers professional art psychotherapy treatment and services to individuals and groups while utilizing observation skills to assess patient functioning. Conducts patient interviews, completes art therapy assessments, and collaborates with the treatment team to develop safe therapeutic plans of care. Provides consultation, instruction, and direction to clinical staff, students, and volunteers while documenting initial screens, assessments, and ongoing progress in compliance with hospital standards. Selects and maintains supplies and equipment tailored to patients' skills, creativity levels, and ages. Requires a Master's degree in Art Therapy, a Maryland State LCPAT license, and two to three years of relevant experience with the specific patient population.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Art Therapy from an accredited college or university
- Possession of a Maryland State license as a Licensed Clinical Professional Art Therapist (LCPAT)
- Two to three years of relevant work experience
- Experience with the specific patient population served by the assigned program/unit
