Job Summary
Plan and deliver a resource-rich art curriculum involving demonstrations, student-led discussions, and hands-on activities while integrating content with other disciplines. Collaborate with class teachers and Newport counterparts to ensure an integrated humanities-based approach, and maintain the Artsonia digital platform for student artwork access. Implement diverse art assessment practices including projects and presentations to monitor student progress and maintain evidence of learning. Cultivate a safe, inclusive classroom culture that fosters cultural competencies and connects students to the world through technology tools like Mac-based systems and Smart Panels. Establish student expectations, participate in faculty committees, and write progress reports twice annually to support parents and caregivers during conferences.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Passion for and love of teaching elementary-aged children
- Relevant classroom experience with similar age group
- Flexibility and resourcefulness
- Motivation to grow and to collaborate with others
- Proficiency with the use of technology (Mac-based, Google Suite and use of Smartpanels and Chromebooks)
