Job Summary
Art Teacher for the 2025-26 school year reporting to the Principal. Responsibilities include using current curriculum plans to provide a sequential course of study, writing lesson plans aligned with Common Core goals, maintaining records of student performance with various assessment tools, delivering planned, interactive, high-quality lessons, modeling art projects, and collaborating with students, parents, and staff to develop long-term plans for student success. The role requires clear oral and written communication, proficiency with basic arithmetic for handling sales tax/discount calculations, and knowledge of Microsoft Office. The position emphasizes engagement in art education, adherence to professional standards, and contributing to the school’s instructional program under the supervision of the Principal or Instructional Supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Art education
- Minimum of five years successful experience in Art education
- Maryland State Department of Education Teaching Certificate with an Art endorsement OR willingness to work toward it
