Job Summary
Anticipated full-time Art Teacher for K-12 in Akron Public Schools. Responsibilities include delivering instruction in a variety of media, assessing student progress on a regular basis, maintaining an orderly classroom, collaborating with other art specialists and classroom teachers to develop interdisciplinary units, serving as an art resource to teachers, planning a program of study with written documentation, participating in staff development, assisting in procuring community/business partnerships, counseling with colleagues, students and/or parents, and supervising teacher aides and/or volunteers. Requires strong organizational skills and belief in arts integration; effective classroom management; and adherence to district policies.
