Job Summary
Art Teacher at High School provides students with instruction in the core academic subject of art, develops and implements lesson plans aligned to district curriculum, conducts ongoing assessments of student learning, and uses accommodations for diverse learners. The role involves planning and delivering instructional activities, collaborating with special education staff to modify curricula as needed, supervising instructional aides, supporting extracurricular activities, maintaining classroom management and safety, and communicating professionally with parents and the community while adhering to district, state policies and TEA guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned (ESL endorsement / certification required for selected subjects)
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience
