Job Summary
Lead a weekend art program for ages 5–9 at Oakmont Rec Center, delivering weekly art lessons and introducing basic techniques in drawing, painting, and mixed media. Prepare materials and set up the classroom prior to each session, provide step-by-step instruction while fostering individual creativity, maintain a safe, welcoming environment, offer constructive feedback, communicate with site staff regarding supplies and attendance, and manage cleanup after class. Requires 2 years of teaching and 2 years in art-related work; in-person role based in Oakton, VA.
Required Qualifications
- Experience teaching children (2 years)
- Background in art, design, or creative instruction preferred
- Ability to lead a group and engage young learners
- Reliable, punctual, and able to manage a structured classroom
- Schedule and commitment requires Sundays 10:00-10:55 or 11:00-11:55
- Work Location: In person (Oakton, VA)
