Job Summary
Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with district curriculum and Texas Education Agency guidelines while accommodating individual student differences. Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement through formal and informal testing to inform instructional activities. Manage student behavior according to the Student Code of Conduct and create a classroom environment conducive to intellectual, emotional, and social growth. Direct the work of assigned instructional aides and volunteers, compile required reports and records, and establish professional relationships with parents and community members. Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned and participate in staff development and faculty meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for subject and level assigned
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- Knowledge of core academic subject assigned
- Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Completion of student teaching or approved internship
