Job Summary
Art Studio Facilitator provides expertise in early childhood and adult arts education to enhance the museum visitor experience. Responsibilities include setting and resetting the art studio, conducting sanitization to maintain cleanliness, implementing art-related museum programming, reviewing visitor evaluations and revising activities, and collaborating with Education staff to support the museum mission. Additional duties include attending mandatory trainings, assisting with material testing and recommendations, and performing other duties as assigned. Requires a minimum of 2 years of high school with a preference for a diploma or GED, at least 1 year of experience teaching or working with young children in the fine arts, proficiency with Outlook and Microsoft Office, strong verbal and written communication skills, and a willingness to communicate in Spanish (preferred). Schedule is 24 hours per week across Mon/Wed/Fri/Sat with varied start times; location is Glenview, IL.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of high school, with preferred high school diploma or GED equivalency
- A minimum of 1-year experience working with/teaching young children in fine arts
- Knowledge of the visual arts and their application
- Proficiency in Outlook, Microsoft suite, utilization of the Internet
- Verbal and written communication skills required to provide a satisfying visitor experience
- Ability to communicate in Spanish, preferred
