Job Summary
Art Life Models are needed by the University of Southern Maine's Art Department to pose for figure drawing and painting classes. Models hold a variety of poses at the instructor’s direction for varying lengths of time, up to 20 minutes, with most modeling being nude. Studio sessions run 2 hours 45 minutes and occur twice weekly, with occasional back-to-back sessions. Models are paid $25.00 per hour and are placed into a pool to be pulled as requested by faculty. Classes meet on the Portland and Gorham campuses, with the campus community emphasizing comfort, privacy, and dignity. Applicants should be comfortable with sustained physical activity, must submit required application materials, and should be prepared for background screening and visa Sponsorship restrictions. Required Qualifications
- Modeling skills include patience and focus, as well as the ability to hold a variety of poses, which may include short, dynamic postures or extended poses lasting 20 minutes.
- Models should be comfortable with sustained moderate physical activity over a 2h45 minute period. The USM Art Department ensures that the comfort, privacy, and dignity of all models is respected.
