Job Summary
Temporary Art Director to evolve the NYT visual identity for video/audio programming; lead motion design, typography, color, layout and format cohesiveness across platforms; collaborate with Creative Director and leadership to shape editorial visual assets for shows and podcasts; ensure alignment with Times design systems and journalistic standards. In-office based in New York with four days per week in the office and potential remote flexibility per departmental guidance. Requires 6+ years in motion design and a strong branding systems background; proficiency in Adobe Suite, After Effects, Figma; knowledge of C4D or Blender is a plus; reports to Creative Director, Video.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of motion design experience for video and/or audio-driven programming
- Strong portfolio demonstrating branding systems experience
- Proficiency with Adobe Suite, Adobe After Effects, and Figma
- Strong typographic, layout and composition skills with experience conveying complex ideas visually
