Job Summary
Perform x-ray testing, operate diagnostic equipment, and prepare rooms with necessary supplies while adhering to proper radiation protection and shielding techniques. Greet patients, communicate wait times, and provide direction for treatment processes. Obtain and document vital signs, patient history, and medications; assist with patient transfers and front desk check-in/out procedures. Execute follow-up calls, perform quality control procedures, and ensure equipment is in proper working order. Maintain current licensure, certification, and diagnostic imaging knowledge. Full-time team members work rotating 36-40 hour/week shifts including every-other weekends. Physicians Care offers convenient walk-in centers open seven days a week across Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- BLS Certification
- AR State X-Ray License
- Must be available for rotating 36-40 hour/week schedule
- Must be available for 12-hour weekday shifts
- Must be available for every-other weekend
- Must be available for Saturday and Sunday shifts
- Must be available for Monday through Friday shifts
- Must be available for 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. shifts
- Must be available for 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. shifts
- Must be able to lift and move patients
- Must be able to perform body mechanics
- Must be able to operate diagnostic equipment
- Must be able to develop film
- Must be able to prepare the room with necessary equipment and supplies
- Must be able to perform Medical Assistant duties
- Must be able to greet patients
- Must be able to communicate with patients
- Must be able to provide direction to patients
- Must be able to recognize and seek help in emergent/hazardous situations
- Must be able to execute follow-up calls
- Must be able to assist front desk personnel
- Must be able to obtain and document patient vital signs and weight
- Must be able to take patient history
- Must be able to document patient allergies and medications
- Must be able to assist with patient transfers
- Must be able to follow documentation procedures
- Must be able to perform radiology procedures
- Must be able to perform quality control procedures
- Must be able to prepare patients for radiologic procedures
- Must be able to follow radiation protection and shielding techniques
- Must be able to ensure equipment is in proper working order
- Must be able to report equipment malfunctions
- Must be able to maintain and improve diagnostic imaging knowledge
- Must maintain current licensure and certification
Desired Qualifications
- ARRT Certification preferred
- Experience as a Medical Assistant is preferred
