Job Summary
Provide imaging services and transportation to patients of all ages, including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Uphold safety standards by following established protocols, JCAHO standards, and radiation safety practices while administering contrast and medications per policy. Correlate clinical history with exams, manage billing practices, and practice good stewardship with department resources. Perform quality control documentation for CT equipment, maintain accreditation duties, and clean, maintain, and operate all imaging, transport, and software systems. Instruct and supervise student technologists and new employees as assigned, and coordinate services for assigned areas when serving as a charge or lead tech.
Required Qualifications
- Enhanced knowledge in the area of CT
- Specific expertise and skills necessary for maintaining a safe CT environment daily
- Knowledge of basic anatomy, physiology and physics as it pertains to CT patient care
- Advanced knowledge of anatomy and physiology as it relates to 3D imagery
- Ability to efficiently use the tools available on the workstation and understand the process for developing images for diagnostic purposes
- Ability to understand the process for sending images to Synapse
- Proficiency in processing 3D exams
- Documented formal education or on-the-job training
- Ability to read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend English
- Radiologic (Diagnostic/Fluoroscopy), Computed Tomography (CT), Interventional Radiology (IR), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI Technologist) graduation and registration requirements
- Graduation from a JRCERT approved school of radiologic technology
- Current registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in radiography or registry eligibility
- CT registration eligibility or CT registration
- Ability to fulfill graduation and registration requirements as specified
