Job Summary
Aerodrome Reporting Officer (ARO) at Newcastle Airport to actively manage wildlife on airside and collect/maintain wildlife activity data; liaise with clients for updates and guidance; uphold ethics, safety, and operational excellence. Role starts as casual with progression to full-time pending performance, with internal training provided. Desirable experience includes wildlife biology or prior ARO/WMO roles; strong understanding of wildlife behavior and aviation safety; radio communications (preferably VHF) and ability to obtain CASA AROC and ASIC; white card and firearms licence considerations.
Required Qualifications
- A General Construction Induction Card (White Card)
- Eligibility to obtain Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
- CASA Aeronautical Radio Operator Certificate (AROC) or ability to obtain
- A Firearms Licence (Category A & B) – highly desirable or willing to obtain
- Australian citizenship and subject to a Police check
- Qualification such as Aerodrome Reporting Officer (ARO) or Work Safety Officer (desirable)
