Job Summary
Military Science Instructor (MSI) will teach in indoor classrooms and field training settings, delivering standardized instruction and workshops. Contractor personnel must demonstrate instructor ability in military field training exercises and be able to live/instruct in field environments for extended periods during training exercises. Responsibilities include providing military science instruction, group/individual training, field instruction, and training aligned with Cadet Command’s POI and ROTC directives; employing mixed media to teach objectives; conducting Warrior Tasks and Battle Drills, small unit tactics, and physical fitness; coaching cadet teams (e.g., Ranger Challenge, drill team, color guard); instructing Cadets on leader/officer-to-NCO relationships in garrison and combat environments; preparing Cadets for written/verbal plans and crisis/contingency management; supporting Cadet Summer Training (CST) at Fort Knox, KY; assisting with recruiting events and cadet prospect development; presenting ROTC information to potential cadets and community leaders; conducting campus tours to showcase ROTC; assisting with inventory and distribution of supplies; transporting ROTC personnel and materials; travel as needed with annual CST; background checks may be required; travel includes potential overnight stays; minimum military service history requirements include Commissioned/Non-Commissioned Officer status with recent experience; knowledge of Army structure, field training evaluations, basic Soldier skills, small arms safety, and computer skills are expected; safety and training documentation duties are included.
Required Qualifications
- Commissioned or Non-Commissioned Officer in US Army, Active Component or Army Reserve/National Guard; prior active or reserve military experience required; travel and field instruction experience preferred
