Job Summary
Veterinary Assistant at VetEvolve provides essential support to veterinarians during outpatient exams and throughout diagnosis and treatment. Responsibilities include assisting during exams, diagnostics, treatments, and surgical procedures; safely restraining animals using low-stress handling; administering medications, vaccines, drawing lab samples, and conducting basic lab tests; maintaining accurate treatment plans and medical records; educating clients on vaccines, medications, and care protocols; processing payments and supporting client check-out; ensuring clean, well-stocked exam rooms and hospital spaces; maintaining professionalism and reliability in high-stress situations. Strong emphasis on compassionate client communication and collaboration with the veterinary team. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, comfort with Cornerstone and Office software, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds; prior veterinary experience valued. Hours are flexible to support hospital operations. Compensation includes medical/dental/vision, 401(k), PTO, scrub allowance, and EAP.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic computer proficiency including Cornerstone and Microsoft Office
- Experience with animals or veterinary background strongly valued
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and handle animals up to 130 pounds
- Comfortable with cleaning chemicals, anesthetic gases, zoonotic diseases, and animal body fluids
