Job Summary
Armenian Distance Learning Associate Language Instructor will provide virtual language instruction to improve proficiency across listening, reading, and speaking (ILR/DLPT/OPI measures), deliver instruction on regional and cultural topics using blended-learning methodologies, develop lesson plans, assess and adjust instruction based on student levels (ILR 0+ to 3), review assignments and provide feedback, and collaborate with managers to address curriculum needs. Requires US citizenship, near-native Armenian language ability (ILR 3/3/3 or equivalent), virtual-language-instruction experience, cultural awareness, ability to create blended lessons, and access to necessary hardware and connectivity. English and target-language proficiency qualifications and experience with online teaching tools (Canvas, Moodle, CL-150, Adobe Connect) are required; a Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- US Citizenship required
- Educated native speaker of the foreign language or near-native capability in listening, reading, and speaking with ILR 3/3/3 or equivalent
- Experience in providing foreign language instruction through a virtual environment
- Understanding of cultural, social, and political environment of the foreign language region
- Experience creating blended learning lessons and tailoring materials to customer needs
- Access to a computer with Windows, webcam, headset with microphone, cellular phone or smart tablet, and high-speed internet
- English language qualifications: ILR level 2 or higher or TOEFL/TOEIC equivalencies as listed (TOEFL 553 PBT or 83 iBT with subscores, ECL 82, ACTFL OPI Advanced-Low or higher)
- Target language qualifications at least ILR 2+ or ACTFL Advanced-High, demonstrated via OPI/DLIFLC or ACTFL-certified interview/ DLPT
- Experience using online platforms (e.g., CL-150, Adobe Connect, Canvas, Moodle)
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
