Job Summary
Patrol assigned areas, monitor surveillance cameras, and inspect property while reporting suspicious activities to local authorities. Respond to medical emergencies, bomb threats, and fires; reasonably detain persons suspected of criminal activity until law enforcement arrives. Escort discharged staff, trespassers, and unwelcome parties off premises; investigate reports of suspicious activity on the property. Prepare Daily Activity Reports and ensure doors, windows, and gates are secure after business hours. Maintain calm in high-pressure situations with authoritative verbal communication skills. Requires NV Armed Guard Card, BSIS guard card, and Exposed Firearm Permit. Flexible schedule with weekend availability; full-time day shift 9am-3pm.
Required Qualifications
- Candidates must be able to complete and pass the federal Declaration for Employment (OF 306)
- Must be able to complete and pass government form OF 306
- Must have or be able to obtain a NV Armed Guard Card
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail
- Must be able to write accurate and thorough reports
- Customer Service Oriented
- Team player, punctual and dependable, with good de-escalation skills, and judgement
- Reliable transportation
- Flexible schedule required, most shift require weekend availability
- Authoritative verbal communication skills
- Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations
- Ability to learn the layout of the property and buildings
- Must be able to stand for an extended periods of time
- Knowledge and experience to work with Excel, Word, Doc, iPhone/iPad
- Current BSIS guard card
- Exposed Firearm Permit
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Must be 21 years old
- Security guard training certification required
- Holster Level 3 with duty belt
- Valid CA Guard Card and Exposed Firearm Permit
- 2 years' experience minimum
Desired Qualifications
- Less than lethal licenses / permits preferable (baton, taser, pepper spray)
