Job Summary
Armed Security Officer responsible for providing a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors and staff; directs visitors, patients and employees to appropriate locations; protects and safeguards all persons on SEH property; maintains professional service and customer relations, including de-escalation techniques; monitors CCTV and alarm systems; handles documentation and reporting with case logs and daily data entry; participates in mandatory training including firearms; coordinates with staff, local law enforcement, and other government agencies as part of safeguarding operations across the hospital campus in Kentucky, Indiana, and Ohio.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required with applicable Criminal Justice experience OR Bachelor’s Degree
- Valid driver’s license and must be insurable by the Hospital insurance carrier
- Specialized Knowledge: Accredited police academy firearms course, or state approved concealed carry firearms course, or approved firearms training program, or related military firearms training
- Successful pass Psychological Evaluation
- Successful completion of weapons retention training
- 6 months of SEH Security Officer 1 experience OR Current Sworn Law Enforcement Officer OR Honorably discharged member of the Armed Forces
