Job Summary
Provide security and safety for personnel, property, facilities, and assets at the Norfolk Naval Ship Yard. Execute entry control point services to deter unauthorized ingress and egress, while performing identification checks for authorized personnel and vehicles. Safeguard the base against sabotage, theft, or riots, and conduct perimeter and interior patrols to detect suspicious activities. May execute emergency closure procedures, provide escort services, and assist in catastrophe response plans. Requires active or obtainable DoD Secret Clearance, VA DCJS (Armed) certification, and 2–5 years of armed security experience. Candidates must hold a valid driver's license, pass medical and psychological evaluations, and be willing to work evenings, nights, and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance
- Must be able to acquire VA DCJS (Armed)
- Minimum 2 - 5 Years armed experience working in security industry (guard services, police, military, etc.)
- Possess a valid driver's license
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
- Willingness to work evenings, overnights, and weekends as required
- Be able to pass a basic medical evaluation, psychological, and performance fitness test
- Pre-employment Drug Testing
- Be at least 21 years of age or be an honorably discharged veteran
