Job Summary
Conduct routine patrols of the facility's perimeter and checkpoints while monitoring surveillance systems and verifying visitor identities. Respond promptly to security incidents and report suspicious activity, ensuring all firearms are handled safely in compliance with Michigan state guidelines. Maintain a visible, authoritative presence to deter threats and manage access points with discipline. This role requires a valid Concealed Pistol License and at least two years of experience as an armed security officer, law enforcement, or military member. Candidates must be at least 21 years old and possess strong de-escalation and conflict resolution skills. Full-time schedule with potential evening, weekend, and holiday shifts; background check required.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Valid Concealed Pistol License (CPL)
- Completion of an approved firearms training course
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2+ years of experience as an armed security officer, law enforcement, or military
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to respond quickly to incidents
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds
- Comfortable working in indoor and outdoor environments with exposure to noise, changing temperatures, weather, and other facility conditions
- Ability to remain alert and attentive while sitting, standing, or monitoring security systems for long periods or entire shifts
- Sufficient vision and hearing, with or without corrective devices
- All candidates must be willing to submit to a background check
