Job Summary
Conduct security patrols and enforce access control procedures to protect assets, personnel, and visitors at the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library and Museum. Investigate accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities while writing detailed reports on safety hazards and security situations. Provide assistance to customers, employees, and visitors in accordance with department procedures. Maintain a professional demeanor under stress and communicate clearly via radio and telephone. This part-time role requires a U.S. citizen with at least two years of armed security experience, Iowa State Security Guard Certification, and a Handgun Permit. Candidates must pass a background check, credit check, and drug screening.
Required Qualifications
- United States citizen
- At least 21 years of age
- HS diploma or GED
- Must be able to fluently speak, read, and write the English language
- Must possess or be able to obtain the Iowa State Security Guard Certification Card
- Must possess or be able to obtain the Iowa Handgun Permit
- Must possess or be able to obtain firearms qualification permits
- The applicant is required to submit to pre-employment medical exam and drug screening
- The applicant must be able to pass an NLIC / State / Local Background check and Credit check
- The applicant must obtain client/site suitability approval
- Additional training required
