Job Summary
Maintain safety and security of visitors and staff by patrolling premises, controlling access points, and observing activities around the assigned post. Respond to emergency situations calmly, de-escalate hostile situations, and safely handle authorized firearms while collaborating with client staff regardless of rank. Submit written and verbal reports for designated irregularities, clock in/out using apps, and relay relevant information during shifts. Practice all safety rules and procedures to ensure a healthy work environment, greeting individuals courteously as a top priority. This role supports GSG Protective Services' mission to protect what matters most across the Southwest and Northeast United States.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Driver's License
- 18+ years of age
- Security Guard Permit as required by state law
- Firearms Permit as required by state law
- Chemical Weapons/Pepper Spray Permit as required by state law
- 3 years security experience
- Documents that establish identity
- Documents that establish authorization to work in the U.S
- Listen, understand, summarize, transfer and retain basic instructions and detailed information
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; including the ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions
- Ability to maintain control of a firearm and/or other assigned weapons in a hostile situation
- Ability to observe and report activity
- Ability to walk or sit for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to write detailed reports
- Ability to use computer and smart phone applications
- Security Officer License
- Firearms State Permit
- 1st Shift, 2nd Shift, 3rd Shift, Weekends
- Travel is not required
Desired Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Knowledge of security operations and procedures
- Customer Service experience
- 5 years Security experience
- Firearms authorization
