Job Summary
Maintain a professional security presence at assigned transit facilities through static posts and mobile patrols. Monitor passengers, employees, and visitors for rule compliance while responding to security alerts, criminal activity, medical emergencies, and alarm activations. Assist sick or injured individuals, provide basic first aid, and contact emergency services or law enforcement as required. Process visitor entries, identify hazards, and report equipment problems or unsafe conditions. Take appropriate action regarding unauthorized access or violations of law or METRO rules when legally authorized. Complete required reports and documentation, and perform other duties assigned by the Project Security Manager. Full-time overnight schedule includes 42 hours weekly from 6:00am to 2:00pm Sunday through Thursday.
Required Qualifications
- At least 21 years of age
- Active Level 3 security certification with guard license in hand
- Active baton and OC certifications
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record for the previous three years
- Ability to pass the required Physical Readiness Test
- Ability to successfully complete a required 24-hour training course
- Basic computer and technical application skills
- Bachelor's degree with demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities relevant to the position
- Associate degree in criminal justice or security plus two years of security experience
- Three years of combined military, law enforcement, and/or corrections experience
- Five years of verifiable commercial security experience
- One-mile walk/run within 18 minutes
- 45-foot simulated 150-pound body drag within the applicable required time
