Job Summary
Armed Security Officer responsible for patrolling premises, monitoring security devices, responding to alarms, managing access points, coordinating with law enforcement, and providing detailed incident reports. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 2+ years of security experience (preferably armed), and a valid armed security officer license. The role involves carrying a firearm, maintaining composure under high pressure, and maintaining confidentiality while ensuring safety and security of clients’ premises, assets, and personnel. Shifts include nights, weekends, and holidays; strong interpersonal and communication skills, vigilance, and physical fitness are essential.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; further education or certification in security services is an advantage
- Proven experience as a security officer or guard with a minimum of 2 years, preferably in armed roles
- Valid armed security officer license and certification to carry a firearm
- Extensive knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols
- Proficiency in operating security equipment and software
- Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations and make decisions quickly
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with colleagues and the general public
- Keen attention to detail and situational awareness to assess changing security environments
- Physical fitness and strength to perform patrol duties and respond to incidents effectively
- Availability to work in shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays
- A clean criminal record, demonstrating reliability and integrity
