Job Summary
Patrol museum buildings and grounds to maintain a safe and secure environment. Monitor surveillance cameras and security systems, conduct routine inspections of doors, windows, gates, and restricted areas, and respond to alarms, emergencies, and incidents with professionalism. Contact law enforcement, fire, or emergency medical personnel when appropriate, investigate suspicious activity, and complete detailed incident reports. Assist with crowd management during events, escort unauthorized individuals, and detain suspects until police arrive while delivering customer service. Requires a South Carolina Concealed Weapons Permit, SLED background investigation, and valid driver's license; full-time 40-hour shift from noon to 8 p.m. with weekend and holiday availability.
Required Qualifications
- South Carolina Concealed Weapons Permit (required at time of interview)
- Successful SLED background investigation
- Previous verified security experience
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- CPR and First Aid Certification, or ability to obtain within 30 days
- Full time position (40 hours), Noon to 8 p.m. Days will vary
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays as needed
