Job Summary
Conduct security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicles, monitoring entrances and exits while observing departing personnel to prevent theft. Watch for irregular conditions, warn violators of rule infractions, and permit authorized access. Sound alarms or contact police/fire for emergencies, investigate incidents, and prepare detailed written logs. Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous manner and make emergency notifications per site Post Orders. This role requires an active Texas Armed Security Officers Level III License, a valid driver's license over one year old, and the ability to work irregular shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays with little advance notice. Pay is $19.00 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- Active Texas Armed Security Officers Level III License in hand or a Level III Armed Certificate from Texas
- Valid Drivers License for more than 1 year
- Must be flexible to work various work schedules, nights, weekends and holidays
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent or 5 years of verifiable experience
- Valid driver's license if driving a company or customer-owned vehicle
- Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
- Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
- At least 18 years of age, or higher if required by the state (21 years, if armed)
- Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments
- Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
- Demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
- Effective oral and written communication skills; able to write informatively, clearly, and accurately
- Active listening and problem-solving skills
- Assess and evaluate situations effectively; identify critical issues quickly and accurately
