Job Summary
Armed School Security Officer responsible for protecting district campuses from fire, theft, vandalism, and unauthorized entry; duties include first responder to campus events, patrolling the campus inside buildings and perimeter, maintaining high visibility during before/after school and lunch periods, ensuring security of exterior facilities, identifying and addressing security issues, monitoring arrivals and departures, observing student traffic, and coordinating with law enforcement. Role includes monitoring video surveillance, participating in the school threat assessment team, and developing communications with the patrolling law enforcement agency and site administration; requires a state security license, a high school diploma or GED, at least 25 years old, 5 years of Law Enforcement or Military Police experience within the last seven years, ability to pass background and drug screening, reliable transportation, excellent communication and customer service skills, U.S. citizenship or lawful resident status, valid drivers license, and I-9 documentation.
