Job Summary
Deter, prevent, and respond to potential threats on campus while conducting continuous interior and exterior physical patrols and monitoring entrance points. Serve as a primary physical deterrent and first responder to active threats, unlawful entries, or high-risk safety incidents. Assist administration with active assailant drills, lockdowns, evacuations, and severe weather protocols. Build constructive relationships with students, parents, and staff while utilizing verbal de-escalation skills to resolve low-level disputes. Maintain accurate daily activity logs and write detailed incident reports for school administration and local law enforcement. Requires Florida School Guardian Certification, Class D and G licenses, and 2–3 years in law enforcement or armed security. Located in Fort Pierce.
Required Qualifications
- Florida School Guardian Certification
- Florida Class "D" Security License
- Florida Class "G" Statewide Firearms License
- Active CPR / AED / First Aid certification
- Tactical Medicine / Stop the Bleed
- At least 21 years of age
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Enhanced Level II background check (FBI & FDLE fingerprinting) with no felony convictions or violent misdemeanors
- Comprehensive psychological evaluation administered by a licensed psychologist
- Pre-employment drug screening
- Consent to random testing
- Minimum of 2–3 years of verifiable experience in law enforcement, military service (honorably discharged), or high-level armed security operations
- Ability to stand, walk, run, and patrol outdoors in various weather conditions for extended periods
- Ability to respond swiftly on foot to any area of the campus in an emergency
- Vision and hearing capable of meeting law enforcement active-response standards
