Job Summary
Enforce company safety and security rules, conduct routine inspections of on-site and off-site locations, and investigate accidents or incidents as assigned. Perform building openings and lockdowns per administration approval, participate in emergency response drills, and adapt communication styles to specific patient populations. Maintain required annual certifications, including Basic Life Support, firearms training, and IAHSS certification, while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Report all occurrences in a timely manner and remain knowledgeable on accreditation standards. This PRN role requires a high school diploma, one year of security experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to walk 11 floors continuously.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 1 year of experience in Security, law enforcement, or military
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
- Valid driver's license in the state of practice and clean DMV report
- Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI)
- firearms training
- International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Certification to be obtained within 90 days of promotion/hire
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
- computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information
- proficient with Windows-style applications and keyboard
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individual
- Ability to read, write and speak the English language
- Ability to continuously walk the company property including outside areas, interior areas, using stairwells in 11 floor plus structure
- Ability to exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly
