Job Summary
Provide access control to facilities while interacting with customers, employees, contractors, and visitors. Conduct foot patrols to ensure secure areas remain secure, observe and report issues, and monitor alarms. Perform bag, container, and vehicle inspections; respond to emergencies in a calm, efficient manner; and write incident and daily reports. Maintain safety and security of personnel, property, and assets while adhering to strict protocols. Shifts are generally 12 hours, three days a week, including nights and weekends, with potential for full-time transition. Requires U.S. citizenship, Nevada PILB licensing, and physical stamina for extended outdoor and indoor environments.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizen
- High School Diploma or verifiable GED certificate
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Must pass a medical examination, drug screen, DMV, state and federal background investigation
- Must fluently speak, read and comprehend the English language
- Must possess the required State of Nevada PILB licensing requirements to carry a handgun/shotgun
- U.S. State issued driver's license
- Must have two or any reasonable combination of the following: Three years of experience in the security industry, military or law enforcement
- Associate degree or completion of twenty-four college credits
- Active, retired or honorably discharged service in the U.S. Armed Forces, National Guard or Reserves
- Graduation from a law enforcement basic academy
- Proven judgment and composure in high-stress, fast-moving situations
- Strong verbal communication and command presence
- Highly disciplined, mission-focused, and team-oriented
- Must be able to stand, walk, and remain on foot for extended periods up to 12 consecutive hours across uneven terrain, stairs, inclines, and indoor and outdoor environments in all weather conditions
- Must be able to sprint short distances, crouch, kneel, bend, and assume defensive or low-profile positions as operational demands require
- Must be able to ascend and descend stairs, ramps, and elevated platforms rapidly while maintaining situational awareness
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull a minimum of 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds during specific assigned tasks
- Must be physically capable of restraining, repositioning, or supporting another adult in emergency scenarios
- Requires acute near and distance vision, peripheral awareness, depth perception, and color vision to monitor environments, assess threats, and operate safely in all lighting conditions including low-light and nighttime settings
- Must maintain visual acuity during high-stress, fast-moving situations
- Must be able to hear and clearly understand spoken communication in loud, crowded, or chaotic environments
- Must be proficient in earpiece and radio communications while simultaneously monitoring the surrounding environment
- Must demonstrate safe and proficient handling, deployment, operation, and re-holstering of a firearm under stress, in low-light conditions, and with one hand if required
- Must maintain the dexterity to apply restraints, administer first aid, and operate communications and electronic equipment in dynamic environments
- Must be able to work effectively across a full range of weather conditions and environments including extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, and direct sun exposure for extended durations
- Must maintain composure, physical performance, and sound judgment during prolonged exposure to environmental and operational stressors
