Job Summary
Maintain security of prisoners in the courtroom by escorting them to and from holding cells using handcuffs, shackles, and other restraints. Transport prisoners from correctional institutes to courthouses and medical facilities, including escorting admitted patients. Complete reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities. This per-diem role requires a high school diploma, three years of detention officer or law enforcement experience, a state unrestricted carry permit, and a NY State Security License. Stand for up to six hours while staying alert with strong verbal and written communication skills. Work varies week to week across the first, second, or third shift.
