Job Summary
Conduct armed and unarmed security patrols for industrial, commercial, government, and residential facilities across the Norfolk and Virginia Beach areas. Maintain professional demeanor, communicate clearly with authorities and clients, and make situational decisions while reporting to appropriate personnel. Endure full 8-hour shifts involving extended standing, walking, and exposure to cold or hot weather, occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs. Some weekends and holidays may be required. This role reports to an Account Manager and is part of Top Guard's regional security network serving major manufacturers and financial institutions.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- Must have clear criminal history for background investigation
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check as a condition of employment
- Must be able to sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time, up to a full 8-hour shift
- Must be able to endure cold and hot weather for extended periods of time, up to a full 8-hour shift
- Occasionally lift or pull up to 50lbs
- Speak audibly, clearly and understandable in order to have information understood or to contact authorities
- Some weekends and holidays may be required
- Specialized law enforcement, security and/or military experience or training preferred (1 year or more required for some contract sites)
