Job Summary
Conduct daily clinic patient care under provider direction, including vital signs measurement, medication administration, wound care, and immunization management. Assist with procedures such as EKGs, catheterizations, and Pap smears while preparing exam rooms and maintaining strict infection control protocols. Document all activities in the EMR, manage prior authorizations, and coordinate referrals to ensure population health and care gap closure. Act as a station floater to communicate lab values and manage same-day requests, while maintaining licensure and attending required compliance training.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Licensure: Must be registered with NCBON and in good standing
- Experience in electronic medical records (EMR/HER) software
- Maintain licensure in accordance with North Carolina Board of Nursing
- Maintain CPR certification
- Professional demeanor and recognition of privacy considerations for patients and families
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate and interact professionally with others
- Ability to actively listen
- Ability to observe and to draft a narrative account of events accurately and cogently, in grammatically correct English
- Ability to spell, proofread and edit written text
