Job Summary

Oversee, maintain, and perform tooling changes and setup for electrical, plumbing, pneumatic, mechanical, hydraulic, and other production equipment in the Reliability Department. Evaluate problematic systems to determine necessary installation or repair services while ensuring all OSHA, GMP, and food safety policies are followed. Teach other mechanics on troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance areas. Inspect work for completeness, inform supervisors of completed assignments, and keep routine and PM records up to date. Transfer equipment between projects as needed and perform Up Time Inspections using ultra-sonic devices to identify premature failures. Work the 2nd shift with a final compensation of $25.00-$35.00 based on skills and experience.

Required Qualifications

  • High School or GED or related technical field
  • At least two years of education and training beyond high school level in general maintenance and repair, or a closely related area
  • 5 years experience in maintenance operations
  • two years in a supervisory or lead capacity
  • Ability to perform all mechanic II skills & abilities with minimal to no supervision
  • Extensive understanding towards Theory of operations for surrounding production equipment
  • Ability to proficiently troubleshoot when production equipment breakdown events occur
  • Ability to perform all PM's or work requests generated for the Reliability department with minimal supervision
  • Ability to generate value added work requests through performing Up Time Inspections utilizing ultra-sonic devices and other external tools to Identify premature failures of production equipment
  • Mechanic III must have extensive understanding of electrical controls PLCs, VFDs, and all other electronic devices
  • Ensure all company and OSHA safety programs are followed
  • Ensure all GMP policies and Food safety procedures are followed
  • Ensure all required GFSI, FDA, USDA, FSMA, Third Party Audit, and company procedures and policies related to food safety are followed
  • Inspects work for completeness
  • Installs, inspects, repairs and maintains the electrical, plumbing, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and other related systems in Reliability department
  • Inspects major contract work on mechanical and other related systems and assists when necessary in order to understand all new installations or changes
  • Mechanic III must be able to teach other mechanics all areas of maintenance, trouble shooting, and repairs
