Job Summary
Oversee, maintain, and perform tooling changes and setup for electrical, plumbing, pneumatic, mechanical, hydraulic, and other production equipment across the Reliability Department. Evaluate problematic systems to determine necessary installation or repair services while ensuring strict adherence to OSHA safety, GMP policies, and food safety procedures. Teach other mechanics in maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs; generate value-added work requests using ultra-sonic devices to identify premature equipment failures. Inspect major contract work, manage preventive maintenance records, and perform all mechanic II skills with minimal supervision.
Required Qualifications
- High School or GED or related technical field
- At least two years of education and training beyond high school level in general maintenance and repair, or a closely related area
- 5 years experience in maintenance operations including two years in a supervisory or lead capacity
- Ability to perform all mechanic II skills & abilities with minimal to no supervision
- Extensive understanding towards Theory of operations for surrounding production equipment
- Ability to proficiently troubleshoot when production equipment breakdown events occur
- Ability to perform all PM's or work requests generated for the Reliability department with minimal supervision
- Ability to generate value added work requests through performing Up Time Inspections utilizing ultra-sonic devices and other external tools to Identify premature failures of production equipment
- Mechanic III must have extensive understanding of electrical controls PLCs, VFDs, and all other electronic devices
- Ability to teach other mechanics all areas of maintenance, trouble shooting, and repairs
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
