Job Summary
Greet customers, answer merchandise questions, and utilize the S.A.L.E.S. process to assist shoppers. Complete daily paperwork including price change bulletins and bin tags, then receive, unpack, and replenish stock while maintaining plan-o-gram displays. Perform inventory adjustments through cycle counts and negative on-hand reports, ensuring accurate stock levels. Operate the cash register for scanning, suggestive selling, and tendering, while managing safe counts and banking. Maintain a clean, safe store environment by following nightly maintenance checklists and loss prevention techniques. Assist with paint mixing, chain cutting, and glass repair. Work a flexible schedule including weekends, with regular attendance required.
Required Qualifications
- Six months related experience and/or training
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively with customers or associates of the organization
- Ability to understand and respond to verbal instructions or questions
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
- Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with assistance
