Job Summary
Greet customers, answer merchandise questions, and use the S.A.L.E.S. process to assist shoppers. Complete paperwork for price changes and bin tags, replenish stock, and maintain displays per planograms. Perform inventory adjustments, follow nightly maintenance checklists, and practice loss prevention techniques. Operate cash registers with suggestive selling, assist with paint mixing and key cutting, and engage customers in Ace Rewards. Work weekends and maintain flexible attendance while adhering to all company policies.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to communicate effectively
- A continuous pattern of regular and prompt attendance is required
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends
- Working knowledge of the tools available to operate the store
- Sound awareness of surroundings, customers, etc.
- Ability to practice loss prevention techniques
- Ability to operate an RF Gun
- Familiarity with Back Office Procedures
- Ability to use Store Opportunities
- Ability to follow GLA policies and procedures for all transactions
- Ability to engage the customer to ensure they are receiving all the benefits of being an Ace Rewards member
- Ability to actively seek participation from Ace Rewards members
- Ability to assist with color matching and mixing paint
- Ability to make recommendations to customers in the service areas
- Ability to assist with chain, rope, key, and glass cutting
- Ability to assist with screen repair
- Ability to assist with knife sharpening
- Ability to operate a cash register
- Ability to scan all merchandise
- Ability to engage the customer through suggestive selling
- Ability to properly tender each transaction
- Ability to thank the customer for shopping at GLA
- Ability to greet all customers
- Ability to assist in answering questions about merchandise
- Ability to assist in locating merchandising

- Ability to complete all company and departmental paperwork accurately
- Ability to receive, open, and unpack cartons or crates of merchandise
- Ability to check paperwork against items received
- Ability to replenish stock when necessary
- Ability to display and maintain merchandise on end caps, shelves, counters or tables
- Ability to build displays when necessary
- Ability to attract customers and promote sales within specified guidelines
- Ability to maintain on-hand integrity through inventory adjustment reports
- Ability to perform cycle count
- Ability to handle negative on-hand
- Ability to follow the nightly maintenance checklist
- Ability to ensure proper store recovery and cleanliness
- Ability to maintain familiarity with new products and ad merchandise
- Ability to maintain outstanding customer service
